Both CS and Rocket League have cases and stuff which make way more income than paying for the game itself. Having more players will boost the income a lot more than having people pay so it works for them. Of course that does not apply to real mods but from what you said you just want to get legit content for free, which is not ok, and hopefully SCS shuts such stuff down.
