now i have windows 7 and it won't run. i tried all comp modes from xp to vista (and all in between) and still it won't run, with or without admin permission ive installed the latest patch (1.03) of the game and he just hangs on the splash thingy and then it changes to not responding.

Try updating your drivers. On Linux/Mac, try creating the Options.ini or reinstalling. The game.dat works just fine, you just have to create an options.ini file. Look under troubleshooting in that guide. Do you have both ROTWK and BFMEII installed? Make sure you're on patch 1.06 when you put in the new game.dat file.

Report abuse. Lord of The Rings Battle for Middle Earth II [EDIT: is compatible with Win10, but] is, unfortunately, yet another of many disc based games. that use SafeDisk copy protection. With the advent of Win10 MS decided to block the driver - secdrv.sy - used by SafeDisk. The reason given is that secdrv.sys is theoretically open to attack Also, the game should run perfectly on Windows 7. Regarding the disc, no, the game will not crash based on whether you have it inserted or not. The game files and the disc are separate in a sense that the game only uses the disc to initiate the launch and not actually run the game files from it. I'm not familiar with the term acronym "AA".

The Battle for Middle-Earth 2 is the second part of the real-time strategy (RTS) video game of the same name. This title goes further into the facts narrated in The Lord of the Rings novels written by J.R.R.Tolkien, and it allows the player to relive the intense battles that take place during the dangerous journey that takes Frodo and the rest of the Fellowship from The Shire and then Rivendell
