Wireless PC Streaming/Oculus Link. So, I recently upgraded my old GTX 1060 6GB with an RTX 3060 Ti. Performance in Virtual Desktop PCVR is pretty darn good with Beat Saber getting easily 120fps, Pavlov getting 90-120fps depending on the map and several others at ~100fps. But Half Life Alyx is giving me very weird performance problems.

using airlink just fine with the pc using wifi also. pc is connected at 433mbpsnot sure what rate the oculus is using but my oldish asus router is handling both lag free. #6. phobos2077 Dec 7, 2021 @ 9:47am. Air Link has nothing to do with specific game, it either works or it doesn't, depending on your router, environment and settings.

Has anyone played Half Life: Alyx with the new Oculus Quest 2? If I were to get a new VR headset this is the one I'd get. Didn't want to spend too much. Big fan of the Half-life games - one of my favorites! I would say it's a good headset if you have a good computer to run it
Same issue here. Running Ryzen 3900x, RTX 3080, Oculus Quest 2. Only fix I found is to restart PC, disable any overlays or OCs and then it works. But hit or miss, pretty annoying. Tried disabling SteamVR Home because seems like this causes all types of issues. Curious if there is something else in particular causing this.

Extreme Lag/Frame Stuttering Oculus Quest 2. Basically every 5 or so seconds I get extreme lag and frame stuttering for a little under a second but its causing me to feel nauseous and the game to be almost unplayable. I saw a few threads from months ago that drivers were the issue but I didn’t know if they were still to blame.

You can play virtual desktop offline so a VPN should not affect your gameplay at all if you have a router specifically for oculus quest. Connect your quest using a 5gz wifi connection, do not bother using 2.4, it will be unusable. Use the router only for your quest, meaning no ipad, cellphone or other wireless applications using the 5gz bandwidth.
