That is, the designation in European-assembled cars may differ from the American one. And if the generation is not right, study this material: Focus 2 and Focus 3 . The 1st generation Ford Focus has two main blocks. One is in the cabin, the other is under the hood. In the passenger compartment
This might be a dumb question but where is the glow plug relay located on my 97 f250 with a 7.3L. I could be wrong but facing the engine it is in the front to the left of the fuel bowl. It will be on the passenger side head towards the front. There will be two relays. The glow plug relay is the one closer to the cab.
The glow plugs and relay are on (energized) only as long as the WTS lite is on, only for about 5 to 15 seconds depending on how cold it is. 99.5 F350 XLT Lariat 4X4 4R100 4.10 DW CC LB Centurion conversion, 183K miles Garret Turbo, Radio SD &Tape, SP Performance 40-60-80 chip, 100 Gal.Transfer Flow W/Trimax Control Aux. fuel tank.
The relay is in the box under the bonnet in the right corner, it is relay number 10 as you look down on the relays and fuse's its on the back row to the right of the yellow relay and its fuse 36 which is the top fuse of the ones at 90deg to the normal looking fuses.
The glow plug module is located atop the motor not far from were a GPR would be located. It's actually a lot easier to swap out than a relay as it's a few bolts and plugs. All Cali 7.3's had the module and most X's. Have seen posts though of owners of 7.3 X's with a relay. In 10 years the X has had one relay replaced.

Diesel engines don't rely on spark plugs for combustion, and instead are fired by engine heat and high compression. When a diesel engine has sat and cooled down
1986 F250 Glow Plug problem. There are a few things that can cause that problem. One is the relay. The other is a temp switch on the front of the motor. One easy way to tell if the glow plugs are no good without taking them out of the vehicle is with a 12 volt test light.
