I pretty much give up on backstabbing the angle for it must be insanely small. be directly behind something and hit RB ( right bumper) and if you are positioned correctly and it is somethin that can be backstabbed, u will perform said move. R1, when standing directly behind an enemy. You don't have to be locked on.
glad I am not the only one who has noticed this. i put around 225 hours into the xbox version and never had any issues whatsoever backstabbing the Silver Knights in Anor Londo. However on the PC version they really gave me a tough time my first time through. Everyone one else, i can backstab every time i want to. i am glad i am not hallucinating.
